Microsoft Excel + Copilot

19th December 2025

Excel with Copilot transforms data management into an intuitive process. Instead of manually analysing spreadsheets, staff can ask Copilot to identify trends in attendance, behaviour or assessment data and explain them in plain English. Copilot can also create dashboards and charts for leadership reports or governor meetings, turning raw data into visual insights. Cleaning messy data becomes effortless, as Copilot removes duplicates, fills gaps and organises columns automatically. Repetitive calculations, such as forecasting attendance or calculating averages, can be automated with a single prompt. This means data managers and leaders can spend less time crunching numbers and more time acting on insights.

Examples:

  • What are the key trends in Year 10 attendance over the last term?
  • Create a dashboard showing progress by subject for Year 11.
  • Explain why Year 9 behaviour incidents increased in November.
  • Clean this spreadsheet and sort by intervention type.
  • Calculate average attendance by year group and forecast next term.
