Looker Studio is an online tool to create interactive reports and dashboards based on data from multiple sources. It’s a great way to visualise large amounts of data in order to understand the data and make more informed decisions.
Reports are based on one or more data sources. A data source could be a sheet within Google Sheets, a CSV file, a MySQL database or many other common data sources. Looker Studio accesses data using a connector, which will usually require you to log in or give access to your data.
Once data sources have been configured, Looker Studio enables you to create a data model. For example, you could combine customer demographic data with sales performance metrics to analyse factors that influence low sales figures.
Reports allow you to incorporate visualisations to present data in a specific format. There are many types of visualisations to choose from depending on the nature of the data and the insights you wish to convey. For example, geographic information can be displayed on a map, or key performance indicators can be highlighted on a scorecard.
